THE FEATURE
CRACKERS
The London Australian Film Society dusted off their santa hats and cracked open the bottles of bubbly for a Christmas film, Aussie style.
Christmas time in Australia – a time for sunshine, family gatherings, prezzies, barbeques, peace and love, right? Well, not so much for this family….
It’s been a tough year for Joey. Not only is he coping with the loss of his father, he hates everything about his life – especially his mum’s simperingly nice new boyfriend and sadistic son who life’s intent is to make Joey’s an utter misery.
But when he has to share a shed during the Christmas family gathering with his flatulent great-grandfather, who’s fresh out of prison, he knows this is going to be the WORST CHRISTMAS EVER.
But things often don’t turn out the way you expect. And stinky old Albert has a few tricks up his sleeve.
If you love the Australian classic, THE CASTLE (1997), this bonkers film is definitely for you!
“The ensemble cast is flawless and the adept handling of situation comedy results in a film brimming with fun.”
David Stratton (SBS).
