Following last year’s showcase of documentaries by UK-based Antipodean filmmakers, we are proud to present another programme of Australian and New Zealand shorts from creatives based in the UK and Europe, many of whom will join us for a post-screening Q&A.
This session will feature the collaborative Māori language poetry film Noho Mai (Sit Here); an evocative exploration of the struggles of an injured WWI soldier in Faces; a female-led drama about grief, loss and the legacies we leave in Maggie Makes A Cherry Pie; a rom-com set amid zombie-infested Melbourne in Rotting Hill; and Coach Days, a comic micro-short about British travel.
A number of the filmmakers will join us after the screening for a short Q&A to discuss their films, the importance of Antipodean stories and voices, and what it means to live and work in the UK and Europe.
