The 2026 London Australian Film Festival continues with the European premiere of witty indie romcom,
ALL MY FRIENDS ARE BACK IN BRISBANE.
After being dumped by her fiancé in London, lawyer Cris (Nelle Lee) returns home to the Sunshine State. Slipping into old friendships comes fairly easy, even if everyone else has settled down and had kids, but when she takes a job alongside the now-married ex-boyfriend she left a decade earlier (Andrew Steel), things get complicated.
With a sparkling script by Stephen Vagg (Neighbours,
Rock Island Mysteries), and with deft direction from Louise Alston (Jucy,
Back of the Net), this film - named Best Queensland Film at the recent Gold Coast Film Festival - is a spiritual sequel to the pair’s much-loved 2007 cult comedy, All My Friends are Leaving Brisbane.
Also screening will be a short film from the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
The 2026 London Australian Film Festival runs from 16-19 July at Finsbury Park Picturehouse. Aussie snacks, sweets & gifts will be on sale in the foyer throughout the festival, with a raffle taking place before every screening.
With thanks to Stephen Vagg and Louise Alston
REVIEWS:
“a charming and witty dramedy”

“...a rom-com told in a uniquely Australian way: heartfelt, very funny, and tragically honest. It manages to capture the specific “Brisbane vibe” while remaining universally relatable to anyone who has ever wondered if they can truly go home again.” -
