The 2026 London Australian Film Festival opens with the UK theatrical premiere of THE TRAVELLERS, starring Luke Bracey, Susie Porter and Bryan Brown.
This is the latest feature from writer-director Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy, Mao’s Last Dancer, Ladies in Black), who will be joining us in-person for this special opening gala screening.
This poignant, funny and heartwarming family drama follows Stephen Seary (Bracey), a charismatic and successful stage designer, as he returns from London to his small Australian hometown to farewell his dying mother.
What begins as a flying visit soon descends into chaos, drama, and hilarity as Stephen becomes reacquainted with old friends and past lovers, and navigating family responsibilities, including a difficult relationship with his father (Brown, in a film-stealing performance), all while trying to return to Europe to start a major opera contract.
Also screening will be a short film from the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
The 2026 London Australian Film Festival runs from 16-19 July at Finsbury Park Picturehouse. Aussie snacks, sweets & gifts will be on sale in the foyer throughout the festival, with a raffle taking place before every screening.
With thanks to Bruce Beresford and Ambience Entertainment
