ABOUT THE FEATURE

The London Australian Film Society in conjunction with Umbrella Entertainment proudly presented this special screening.

Bodgy Creek is not a happy town, and now even the local Aussie rules football team is in strife, faced with the prospect of folding or merging with another club. Their only hope lies in the hands of Troy Carrington (Damian Callinan), former local footy hero turned outcast, dubbed the 'Town Killer' for his role in the closure of the local sawmill.

Surely he will put the team to rights? But the old guard is not happy, and the town’s local sporting talent is in very short supply – or is it?

As Carrington rebuilds the team with the help of the local refugee support centre, this new Australian comedy draws upon the country’s trademark self-deprecating humour to put a new spin on the clash of cultures, and how Australians old and new can come together to transform even the smallest of communities.

Australian comedian and host of THE LAST LEG, Adam Hills, is a long-time friend of the film’s writer and star and we are thrilled to host them both for what is set to be an hilarious and insightful Q&A at this very special screening, generously supported by The Australian High Commission.
