THE BBQ

Australians LOVE a BBQ, right? Well this dad reckons he’s the best there is, and fans of The Castle will not want to miss this true-blue Aussie comedy!

Proud father Dazza Cook (Shane Jacobson) is not only convinced he’s related to the man who ‘discovered’ Australia, Captain Cook, but that his beloved BBQ is the very one the famous explorer fashioned on the beaches of Sydney at the first landing.

When his employer puts his BBQing skills to the test by entering him into an international competition, he realises he needs to up his game and enlists the help of a terrifying Scottish chef dubbed The Butcher (Magda Szubanski).

Can their combined talents conquer the world’s best BBQ professionals? And can Shane Jacobson can do for BBQs what he did for portaloos in KENNY?

“This is a movie that reminds us that Australians — old and new — haven’t forgotten how to pull their own legs, and each other’s… It made me laugh a lot, too.”
Stephen Romei, The Australian
